HERE COMES THAT SOUND: Artist To Watch For.

The Twilite Tone

Anthony “Tone” Khan aka The Twilite Tone hails from Chicago; which is where his musical journey begins. The Twilite Tone has been electrifying dance floors since the early 90's. First, gaining acclaim with his best selling mix tapes and production work with high school friend Common. In 2003, he started the legendary bi-weekly "Great Weekend" parties in Hollywood. Great Weekend is a movement, a sound system, a party series, a music group inspired by influential groups from the late 70's and early 80's. At the same time, Tone also had a monthly "Better Days" event in Chicago where he created a cult following. In 2004, he became the tour DJ and host for Common's Electric Circus Tour. That same year Twilite received critical acclaim for the Fader Magazine Mix CD Series Suite 903(see Suite 903 #8) that he mixed which showcased the now classic and highly sought after "Something So Right" by Great Weekend; which was written, produced, and features the "slick talking" of The Twilite Tone.

The Twilite Tone's musical selection ranges from Deep Disco to Classic Chicago House, from Late 70's Soul to the Early 80's Post Punk Downtown sound, from Electro Beat to AfroBeat, from Break Beats to Broken Beat, from Funk to "Soulful" House, from Fusion to Nu-Jazz, and from Hip Hop to all that is HIP.

To put it in Tone's words, "Unexpect the Expected and Come to Dance!”

I can remember going to the clubs to hear Twi Tone blaze the wheels of steel with real HIP HOP. He is one of Chi's legends, glad to hear he is still at it. From the GO, to all over - rocking the party. BIG UP Turp Mag for featuring Tone. Also, BIG UPS to L.O. for keepin it moving. Kev told me you're still creating - don't forget the days we cruised the LA and AZ streets in the Suburban!! ONE
